Recycling Day activity at CEIP Jaume I (Spain)
To raise awareness among 5th and 6th grade students about the importance of recycling textiles and plastic products through interactive and educational experiences.
How has the activity been organized:
The activity consisted of an awareness course with interactive recycling game activities and educational talks for 5th and 6th grade boys and girls, related to textile recycling and the recycling of other plastic products. The activity consisted of talks of approximately 55 minutes for three different classes, with one part explaining what recycling consists of, another part of interactive games, and another part where we handed out demonstrators so that the children could touch these recycled materials.
What was achieved and what that learned
The initial aim of raising awareness and educating students about recycling was fully achieved.
The results were satisfactory, as the children had a good response, carrying out the activities in an active and collaborative way, asking questions, showing interest, and learning about textile recycling and plastic recycling in general. No unexpected difficulties arose in terms of stakeholder engagement or economic issues.
Future visions
For the moment, no future activities are planned in this regard. However, this activity will be published in a regional newspaper and has been promoted on LinkedIn:
