Lindström waistcoat designed for the healthcare, retail, and facility management sectors.
We aimed at developing a sustainable, functional and well-designed product which meets the workwear quality requirements. The properties of the main fabric, which includes recycled fibres, should match the qualities of a conventionally produced fabric.
What was achieved and what that learned
Together with the fabric supply chain partners Utexbel and
Rester, the goal was achieved to engineer a fabric for the waistcoat with 22% mechanically recycled fibres, that meets the high workwear quality and visual/haptic standards. Clear sustainability benefits were achieved in water and energy savings compared tHo uoswing aitvirwginamsatderoialn.
Extensive research and development was done during all production stages to meet the fabric quality standards. All testing feedback was shared with the supply chain partners to be able to adjust and optimize the processes.
Future visions
Including the fabric into Lindström’s product offering if the material is accepted by Lindström clients during the product testing phase.
