tExtended second plenary meeting: May 2023
Vila Nova de Famalicão, Portugal
On May 8th and 9th 2023, tExtended partners have gathered for the second plenary meeting in Vila Nova de Famalicão, in Portugal.
The meeting, that marks the sixth month of work of the tExtended project, has been hosted by CITEVE at their premises and held over two days, bringing together representatives from all the 20 tExtended project partners, coming from 10 different European countries.
Across the two days of work, the partners had the chance to discuss the current work in the project tasks, ideate and plan the upcoming activities together, and collaborate on achieving the overall aim of the project of reducing the production of textile waste. The partners have presented various updates on the advancing of the project tasks so far, and the future plans to further progress the project research. CITEVE has invited the participants to visit their laboratories as well, giving them the opportunity to learn about their work and to discuss tools and procedures used.
The General Assembly meeting has also been held in these two days, with key updates on the development of the first stages of the project, and development of plans to further the tExtended working strategy.
The partners had the occasion to follow a Roundtable on Data Textile Supply Chains, an interesting debate among project members that touched a key component in the development of satisfying tExtended results.
Over the two days the partners have been invited to visit the production sites of two tExtended partners, Têxteis J.F. Almeida, S.A. (JFA) and MTEX NS, where the participants had the occasion to listen about the production of different stages of the textile manufacturing and see the processes first-hand. The participants have also enjoyed a social dinner in the historic centre of Guimarães, a UNESCO heritage site.
tExtended will hold its next plenary meeting in November 2023, in Spain.
