V Meeting with Science (Portugal – April 2026)
To engage students and the local community with circular and bio-based textiles, showing how material choices, use and end-of-life decisions can support more sustainable clothing practices.
How has the activity been organized:
CITEVE delivered an outreach session and supported an exhibition with tangible textile demonstrators, using accessible examples on biomaterials, functionality, circularity, repair, reuse, and recycling.
What was achieved and what that learned
The activity confirmed the value of hands-on materials and simple language to explain textile circularity.
Demonstrators helped connect research results with everyday clothing choices.
Future visions
This format can be reused in school and community contexts, with a compact set of demonstrators, short explanations and QR-based follow-up content.
